In the basement of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Stamford is a remarkable scene. There are streets and stores and shoppers. And lots of trains. The Stamford Model Railroad Club has been building this little world for more than 70 years, and this Saturday they’re hosting an annual open house.
Roxana Robinson’s latest novel, Sparta, is about a Marine lieutenant coming home from Iraq. To write that novel, Robinson talked to many veterans, and began to understand how complicated it is for them to really come home. And now she's learned how an unusual therapy can ease that re-entry.
