Two men are vying for the Democratic nomination for Mayor of Stamford: City Representative David Martin and State Representative William Tong. WSHU's Bill Buchner spoke with Martin about  the race, asking his reaction to the news that the Tong campaign mailed a flyer directing voters to incorrect polling locations for Tuesday's primary.

Pro business group: Upstate NY needs more tax relief than downstate

Conn. ends the 2013 fiscal year with a higher surplus than was expected

Its official, Connecticut ended the 2013 fiscal year in June with a higher surplus than had been projected. That's according to state Comptroller Kevin Lembo's letter to Gov. Dannel Malloy on Tuesday. The final audited statement for the fiscal year will be transmitted on December 31st.

Conn. union members taking part in 'March on Washington' commemoration

The American Federation of Teachers in Connecticut, the NAACP and other unions and community organizations are looking to pick up the torch lit by those who rallied 50 years ago at the March on Washington. Union members by the busload made their way from Connecticut to the commemorative march on Saturday. Unions like the AFTCT are hoping to use the anniversary to inspire activism.
