CT's two proposed fracking waste bills: to ban or to regulate?

Fracking for natural gas could be coming to New York sometime in the future—right now, the state has been reviewing the health impacts of fracking for several years.

Meanwhile, Suffolk County and several other counties already have a law banning disposal of fracking waste.

And, now Connecticut is considering legislation dealing with fracking waste, and it’s generating some controversy.

Malloy lists upcoming transportation projects

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy announced the major projects planned for this year's construction season today. Malloy spoke at a rainy news conference along Interstate-84 in Waterbury, and said widening the I-84 corridor there is one of several projects that will share about $1.8 billion in state and federal transportation funds. Other projects include replacing the Q-Bridge in New Haven along I-95, rehabilitating a portion of the Merritt Parkway in Stamford and making various improvements along I-95 in Norwalk. U.S.
