Tuesday, August 27, is the 50th anniversary of the death of W.E.B. Du Bois. The African American political intellectual and civil rights pioneer was born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, in 1868. A commemoration of his death in Great Barrington this Saturday and will include a guided tour of the Du Bois Homesite.
Top New York and national Republican leaders are criticizing President Obama and questioning his motives for his planned bus tour of upstate New York. The President plans to discuss access to higher education during a tour that begins on Thursday.
