Reverse commuting - from New York City to Stamford-  is on the rise in Stamford. Some young people say it's just more fun to live in NYC. But Stamford is trying to encourage them to consider a move.

Malloy celebrates Q-Bridge progress, criticizes slow process

Over the weekend, southbound traffic on I-95 through New Haven, Conn. shifted off of what’s known as the Q-bridge and onto the brand new Pearl Harbor Memorial bridge. Governor Dannel Malloy celebrated the achievement Monday, while criticizing the process that leads projects like this to take many years to complete.

More Conn. workers seeking part time, temporary jobs

Connecticut residents who are looking for work were no doubt disappointed to learn the unemployment rate rose slightly to 8.1 percent in June. The Department of Labor has reported the state has only recovered 48 percent of lost jobs in the recession. For the unemployed, the under whelming job growth has limited their options. As a result there's been a recent surge in workers seeking part-time and temporary jobs, hoping to break the cycle of unemployment.
