A group of small businesses on Long Island is urging lawmakers to change a state law that forbids trade associations from joining together to buy group health plans. Business owners complain they are paying about 30% more for health insurance than larger businesses.

Submarine base chefs do battle

Chefs at the submarine base in Groton, Connecticut competed on Thursday in a Food Network-style competition.  It was their version of the show Chopped, where chefs have to make meals from baskets of secret and sometimes strange ingredients against the stopwatch.
