Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy and Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin launched a year-long initiative Tuesday to improve education and workforce training. The governors spoke at a summit in Stamford organized by the National Governors Association.

7 women file complaint against UConn over sexual assaults

Seven women who say they were victims of sexual assaults while students at the University of Connecticut have filed a federal discrimination complaint against the school.

Attorney Gloria Allred says Monday's complaint to the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights alleges the school failed to do enough in response to the women's allegations.

Documentary highlights struggle for men with breast cancer

This month is unofficially known as Pinktober as organizations raise awareness and money for women with breast cancer. But the pink image doesn't show the full picture.

Breast Cancer is not a gender specific disease.  The American Cancer Society estimates that over 2,200 men across the country will be diagnosed this year. And because typically men are diagnosed at a later stage, men succumb to the disease at a higher rate than women.

In an effort to save lives, two men with breast cancer in Connecticut are advocating for more  awareness and research.

Independent budget analysts for the Suffolk County Legislature say County Executive Steve Bellone's budget next year has a potential $50-million hole in it.  But the analysts say it makes the best of the county’s fiscal problems that have built up over the years.

Siena Poll finds NY voters influenced by wording of gambling amendment

A poll released on Monday finds the positive wording of a November ballot amendment to expand gambling in New York State is influencing voters.  The poll finds a majority of New York voters support the amendment.
