Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone is considering legislation that would pay back some $55 million that environmentalists say lawmakers "raided" from a water quality fund. This comes as environmentalists are ramping up public pressure on the issue.

Malloy wants Conn. to ban sale of e-cigarettes to minors

Conn. Governor Dannel Malloy announcing legislation to ban the sale of e-cigarettes to minors at the Trinity College Boys and Girl Club in Hartford on Wednesday. The Boys and Girls Clubs in Connecticut conduct a tobacco resistance and awareness program for teenagers funded by the Tobacco and Health Trust Fund.

Governor Dannel Malloy said on Wednesday he wants Connecticut to join 27 states that have banned the sale of electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes to minors. E-cigarettes are currently not regulated in Connecticut.

Buildings collapse in Harlem: fatalities and injuries

7:51 am:    Seven people have been confirmed dead, and four of those bodies were found this morning.  Workers at the scene of the two destroyed apartment buildings  plan to remain at the scene through today, as they search for more people believed to be missing following yesterday morning's explosion.
