Marking 100th birthday with a swim for charity

Margaret Wachs was joined in the water by her daughter Elaine Matto, granddaughter Amy Weintraub, and great granddaughter Natalie Johaneson.

On an ordinary recent Friday at the Woodruff Family YMCA in Milford, Connecticut, Margaret Wachs got in the pool to swim 10 laps.  What was extraordinary was that it was her 100th birthday.

Connecticut's U.S. Senators say they are pushing to have Congress consider another gun violence prevention bill before the end of this legislative session.  Senators Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal held a roundtable in Bridgeport on Monday with about a dozen family members of gun violence victims, community activists and law enforcement.

Conn. Supreme Court to determine if horses are innately vicious

The Connecticut Supreme Court is set to hear arguments Tuesday on whether horses are a naturally vicious species. The case stems from an incident in which a boy was bitten by a horse in Milford.  At issue is what state law says about liability in cases like these.
