Buried By Picasso, The Man Beneath 'The Blue Room' Tells A Story

What's behind the man who is below The Blue Room?

This week, conservators at the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., revealed that underneath Pablo Picasso's noted 1901 painting The Blue Room is another painting of a mustachioed man in a jacket and bow tie, resting his face on his hand.

Experts have long suspected something more must be below, as there were brushstrokes that didn't match the composition of the nude, bluish woman. Now, advanced infrared technology has revealed the man with the mustache, who also wears three rings on his fingers.

WATCH: Rep. Ryan Takes IRS Commissioner To Task Over Lost Emails

There were fireworks on Capitol Hill on Friday in the form of testy exchanges and charges that claims by the IRS were "unbelievable," which, if you've watched Washington for any period of time, is the closest politicians get to saying someone lied.

That was the case when Republican Rep. Paul Ryan hammered IRS Commissioner John Koskinen on Friday. Ryan was talking about the IRS' assertion that emails from former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner, who is accused of targeting conservative groups, were deleted.

Russia Puts Its Troops On 'Full Combat Alert'

Russian President Vladimir Putin has placed his armed forces on "full combat alert," the state-run news agency ITAR-Tass reports.

According to the news agency, that means the country will assess the "... troops' time standards and ability to fulfill combat readiness posture tasks. Later on, the troops will be taken to training ranges for exercises."

All of the troops are expected to be back at their bases by July 1.
