Lauren Rico
Classical Music Program HostLauren Rico considers herself very lucky. After all, how many people get paid to listen to beautiful music all day and talk about it?! For more than 20 years she has demystified classical music for her audiences by taking it off a dusty old pedestal and putting it into a modern context. But don’t be fooled by her informal manner! Lauren has an extensive background including a Master’s Degree in French horn (which she wasn’t especially good at) and a long list of broadcasting jobs from across the country (which she was especially good at). She has a passion for producing special programs and even picked up a Gracie Award for her syndicated series, Instrumental Women. When she’s not chatting about the idiosyncrasies of the great composers, she lives on Long Island with her husband, two punky schnauzers and their idiosyncrasies.
