Connecticut Democrats endorsed Governor Dannel Malloy to run for a second term and state Republicans endorsed their 2010 candidate Greenwich businessman Tom Foley to challenge Malloy again. But the stage is not quite set for a rematch.
Connecticut Republicans have endorsed Greenwich Businessman Tom Foley as their candidate to challenge Democratic Governor Dannel Malloy in this year’s gubernatorial election. However, Foley still has to contend with a possible three-way primary in August.
The endorsement came on Saturday on the second day of the two-day party convention at Mohegan Sun in Unasville.
On Friday, the GOP endorsed candidates to challenge the state's five incumbent, Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
