Some Connecticut officials are angry with Metro North Railroad for failing to inform local authorities after they suspected a train struck something last Thursday. The body of a 46-year-old woman from Maine was discovered floating in the Saugatuck River in Westport a day after the incident. She’s believed to have been struck by the train.
U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut is calling on federal officials to conduct an expedited investigation into Sunday's train derailment on Metro North's Hudson line, which killed 4 people and injured more than 60.
Blumenthal cited recent incidents that impacted Connecticut commuters on the New Haven Line in his call to action.
