Sept. 26: Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, 7 p.m., Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts, Sacred Heart University, 5151 Park Ave., Fairfield, Conn.
Husband and wife journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn will discuss their new book, A Path Appears. It’s a deep examination of people who are making the world a better place and the many ways they can be supported. Through research and on-the-ground reporting, the authors assay the art and science of giving, determining the current, most successful local and global aid initiatives on issues from education to inner-city violence to disease prevention. They evaluate the efficiency and impact of specific approaches and charities, as well as fund-raising, show us how particular people have made a difference.
Kristof is a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times columnist. WuDunn is the first Asian-American reporter to win a Pulitzer Prize, is a business executive and best-selling author.
