Connecticut and New York residents can start to enroll for health coverage under the Affordable Care Act on Oct 1. They’re two of 14 states plus the District of Columbia managing their own healthcare exchange, or marketplace.
The chief marketing officer for Connecticut's health insurance exchange says over 6,600 leads have been generated as of last week due to recent outreach efforts, including informational sessions across the state.
About 50 people took part in one of those informational sessions, which the exchange calls "healthy chats" on Thursday night in New Haven.
The Connecticut Insurance Department has approved $215 a month as the cheapest insurance plan premium offered under the state's new health insurance exchange. The department approved three plans Monday, and a fourth plan has dropped out.
