US Transportation Secretary seeks support for more federal spending on rail

The new U.S. Transportation Secretary used a visit to Connecticut today on Monday to urge Congress to support a $40 billion plan to improve rail transportation. The plan is contained in President Obama's 2014 federal budget proposal. It's the secretary's first visit to a state since he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate last month.
