Jana Stanfield Live In WSHU’s Studio A

Songwriter, humorist and educator Jana Stanfield joined us live in WSHU’s Studio A for the first hour of Profiles to share her inspirational wisdom and music, which she describes as “psychotherapy you can dance to”. Jana’s enjoyed a lengthy and distinguished career not only as a singer-songwriter but also as a keynote speaker for conferences, the owner of a successful record company and a world traveler and host of volunteer and eco-tours. She was in Connecticut for two days of events at the Westport United Methodist Church, including a songwriting workshop, a concert, and a Sunday Sermon in Song. I can remember receiving her first recording as a cassette tape with hand-produced art and packaging. Our thanks still once again to WSHU Chief Engineer Paul Litwinovich who engineered the session.

I highlighted some stellar tracks from highly recommended recent album releases for the show’s second hour, including a pre-release copy of Vance Gilbert’s “Old White Men.” The Joe Crookston album was issued in 2008 but is new to Profiles!
