The US Census Bureau is releasing data from its annual American Community Survey on Thursday morning.  It shows a region still not recovering from the recession and housing bust of 2008.  WSHU's Charles Lane on Long Island and Craig LeMoult in Connecticut had a look at the data and have this report.

Whatever the outcome of Tuesday's primaries, most New York mayors who win a new term in cites across the state will face a similar challenge: how to get their municipalities back on secure financial footing.


The pro-business group Unshackle Upstate says upstate New York needs to be granted special tax breaks to help counter the economic recession that continues to afflict that part of state.
