Metro-North introduces new safety protocol; Senators urge additional measure

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says some new safety protections are going into effect on Metro-North Railroad.

They include a system to warn train operators when they approach certain areas and will automatically apply the train's emergency brakes if it doesn't slow down.

The changes were directed in an emergency order  by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and the Federal Railroad Administration.
