Overall crime rates in Connecticut are down to a level last seen in 1968. Governor Dannel Malloy’s criminal justice advisor announced this to state lawmakers in Hartford on Friday.
A Connecticut task force reviewing ways to balance victims' privacy with the state's open records law held its third public hearing in Hartford on Wednesday.
Representatives of the Media urged the task force not to clamp down on information related to crime scenes, saying the public has a right to know what happened and how police handle incidents.
