New York’s delegation to the Republican National Convention is in the national spotlight for casting the votes to put Donald Trump over the top for the Presidential nomination in Cleveland this week, but not all of the state’s politicians are in agreement over some of Trump’s most controversial foreign policies.

Former Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina used a keynote address at a Connecticut Republican fundraiser in Stamford Tuesday night to take on Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

Danbury, Connecticut Mayor Mark Boughton’s gubernatorial campaign said on Tuesday its collected more than the 8,190 signatures needed to get Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti on the ballot for Lieutenant Governor in the state GOP primary. The outcome of Lauretti’s petition drive will determine the lineup for the August 15th GOP gubernatorial primary. 

Connecticut’s Democratic Governor Dannel Malloy responded on Wednesday to his Republican opponent Tom Foley’s accusation that state spending on schools and municipalities has declined over the last three years. Foley made the accusation when he accepted his party’s endorsement at the GOP convention on Saturday and repeated it on television the next day.

Connecticut’s Democratic Governor Dannel Malloy and his leading Republican challenger Tom Foley are taking shots at each other following their party conventions over the weekend.  The candidates are picking up from four years ago when Malloy narrowly beat Foley.
