Malloy: State has enough salt to treat roads, some municipalities 'having difficulty'

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy says the state has not had an issue keeping up with the amount of salt it needs to treat the roads after several snowstorms and another expected this weekend.

Meanwhile, the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities says most cities and towns in the state have used more than half of their snow removal budgets, while others have already used their entire budget for snow removal.

NYC's top prison official named Conn. public safety commissioner

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy announced on Monday that Dora Schriro will take over for Reuben Bradford, who's retiring effective February 1st after three years as the state's public safety commissioner.

Schriro has been commissioner of the New York City Department of Correction since September of 2009, and previously served as a special adviser to former U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on immigration and customs enforcement.

Malloy responds to Foley's accusations

Connecticut Democratic Governor Dannel Malloy dismissed allegations of ethical lapses against his administration on Monday.  The allegations were made by Malloy's 2010 GOP rival, Tom Foley, on the WFSB-TV program "Face the State' on Sunday.
