Melanoma Decreasing In Northeast

According to the Melanoma Foundation of New England, the Northeast has seen a decline in melanoma cases and deaths, even as skin cancer rates have risen nationally.

Connecticut health insurance customers will have fewer private companies to choose from when they sign up for coverage beginning next week, but one more than customers will find in other parts of the country.

The Norwalk and Danbury hospitals have officially merged. Officials made the announcement Wednesday night at the Norwalk Hospital’s annual meeting. 

The leader of the GOP minority in the Connecticut House of Representatives is criticizing the state health department over an audit that finds faulty background checks on day care providers. Lawrence Cafero, a Norwalk Republican, says this raises questions about the management of the agency.
