An adjunct professor at Eastern Connecticut State University has apologized for calling the Republicans in Congress “racist, misogynist, money-grubbing people.’ He said it during a class on Monday. The apology comes after GOP leaders in Connecticut expressed outrage that a teacher at a state university would make such comments.

The head of the House Republicans in the Connecticut General Assembly announced on Thursday that FBI agents were at the state legislative office building in Hartford on Wednesday interviewing members of his caucus.

Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Thomas Leonardi says President Obama is not trying to force state commissioners to follow his suggestion that they allow insurers to extend existing plans that don't comply with the Affordable Care Act.

Leonardi was one of several state commissioners from around the country who met with the President in the Oval Office on Wednesday.
