  New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s anti corruption commission - the Moreland Commission -  is due to issue a report this week, and  reformers hope it will include public campaign financing for statewide elections. 

A corruption commission appointed by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has voted to issue subpoenas to some members of the state legislature. The subpoenas force lawmakers to disclose money paid to them by private law clients. 

There have been several news reports in recent days that portray New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s anti-corruption commission as losing its independence.  Government reform groups say they are worried the Moreland Commission is losing its way. 

Supporters of campaign finance reform rallied outside a hearing on Tuesday held by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's commission on public corruption. They demanded change to what they say is a pay to play culture.
