Norwalk Mayor Moccia, opponent Rilling face off Tuesday

Republican Mayor Dick Moccia and Democratic challenger Harry Rilling sparred over the city's progress on economic development, diversity on the city's boards and commissions, NEON and more on Tuesday at a breakfast event sponsored by the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce at the Norwalk Inn.  The four-term mayor says he's proud of his record; Rilling says more should've been accomplished over the last eight years.

Friends, family show support for activist held in Russia

Nearly 70 people gathered in Norwalk, Connecticut on Saturday night to hold a candle-light vigil in support of a local man who is being held by the Russian government.

Environmental activist Peter Willcox is the captain of a Greenpeace ship. He and his crew were apprehended when they tried to put a banner on a Russian oil platform to protest drilling in the Arctic.

Norwalk mayor's race heats up but voter turnout is key

The upcoming mayoral election in Norwalk pits a former police chief against his former boss, the city’s current mayor. Despite their longtime working relationship, Democrat Harry Rilling is hoping voters see the differences between himself and Republican Mayor Dick Moccia. Election officials say turnout will ultimately decide the election.

Conn. puts anti-poverty agency NEON on notice

A Fairfield County, Connecticut anti-poverty agency is in trouble. NEON, which stands for Norwalk Economic Opportunity Now, provides social services to people in need in the Norwalk and Stamford area. The state has put the agency on notice while internal turmoil threatens its programs.
