Yale University's president has announced several changes in response to concerns that were expressed by students through protests and through meetings with university officials about the racial climate on campus and diversity.

Last night, Peter Salovey said Yale plans to launch a center devoted to race, ethnicity, and other aspects of social identity.

According to a report from Connecticut's Department of Education, between 2007 and 2012, black students were nearly four times as likely to be suspended or expelled from school as white students.

School officials in Stamford, Connecticut have started to do something to change that.
