The New York State Farm Bureau is inserting itself into a legal fight over whether farmworkers can be allowed to unionize.

The New York Civil Liberties Union is suing the state for the right of farm laborers to collectively bargain with their employers, and Governor Cuomo said earlier this year that he would not defend the state in the lawsuit.

Connecticut's largest labor organization has endorsed Democratic Governor Dannel Malloy for a second term. Delegates to the Connecticut AFL-CIO's convention on Tuesday also endorsed the state’s incumbent constitutional officers, who are all Democrats.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has agreed to more arbitration talks with the main labor unions for the Long Island Rail Road.  The move essentially postpones a looming strike until mid summer.
