Conn AFL-CIO endorses Democrats for statewide offices including Malloy for governor

Connecticut's largest labor organization has endorsed Democratic Governor Dannel Malloy for a second term. Delegates to the Connecticut AFL-CIO's convention on Tuesday also endorsed the state’s incumbent constitutional officers, who are all Democrats.

LIRR and unions return to arbitration

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has agreed to more arbitration talks with the main labor unions for the Long Island Rail Road.  The move essentially postpones a looming strike until mid summer.
