Connecticut To Continue Funding Pre-K Expansion

Connecticut plans to continue funding a pre-K expansion program despite the lack of a state budget.

U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., has announced a $300,000 federal grant to help prevent opioid abuse by teenage girls in Connecticut.


The actor Robert Mitchum was one of classic Hollywood’s most recognizable and most sinister faces. Mitchum was born one hundred years ago this month in Bridgeport, Connecticut. WSHU’s Davis Dunavin reports on how his life and screen persona lined up.

Connecticut has a new Soundkeeper. His name is Bill Lucey. Lucey grew up in Wilton, Connecticut. As a child, he fished the Long Island for flounder and blue snapper. He dug for clams along its shores. Now he will work to keep the waters of the Sound clean for the next generation.
