New York Governor Andrew Cuomo hosted Vice President Joe Biden to talk about new ways of rebuilding infrastructure after damaging storms. The two are potential Presidential contenders in 2016 but they had nothing but praise for one another.
Frigid cold temperatures this week means a lot of folks are cranking up the thermostats in their homes. And it turns out one result of that has been a spike in the cost of natural gas, and an increase in the amount of oil and oil used for electricity generation. Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy announced on Monday that Dora Schriro will take over for Reuben Bradford, who's retiring effective February 1st after three years as the state's public safety commissioner.
Schriro has been commissioner of the New York City Department of Correction since September of 2009, and previously served as a special adviser to former U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on immigration and customs enforcement.
Stamford’s Board of Representatives meets Monday night in its first regular meeting of 2014. Its members won’t have to vote on a controversial mayoral appointment to the city’s Police Commission as planned.
