Music Interview: Lidiya Yankovskaya's Debut With Stamford Symphony

This season is an exciting one for the Stamford Symphony, as it completes its search for a new music director and conductor. A pool of nearly 200 candidates has been winnowed down to six finalists, each of whom will have a turn as guest maestro this year, before one is selected to lead the orchestra for the 2018-2019 season.

Lidiya Yankovskaya will be first on the podium, conducting concerts on Saturday, October 14 and Sunday, October 15. Kate Remington talked with Lidiya about the all-Russian program she's put together for her Stamford Symphony debut.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Kate Remington joined WSHU in December of 2000, and she's been WSHU's Music Director since 2002.
